The nose had dried fruits, cherry and plumb, a tad bit of peat and leather.
But it is when we tasted it (me wife and I) we were really surprised at how complex it was.
Now granted we are not some scotch snobs who really can not afford the $200 bottles and such. $50 is about the max we can spend.
Needless to say, this was pretty good.
BUT ... throw a splash of Johnnie Walker Swing in on this and it changed the chemistry totaly. Smoothed it out to where there was no burn and all the fruits, leather, and a hint of sea spray and salt was there.
Grant’s Cask Editions - Sherry Cask Finish is now our go to every day sit and reflect on the day scotch.
For under $20 a bottle, you can not go wrong, at least in our opinion.
