I am thinking of what to buy next. Here is what I have in my cabinet at the moment (from memory):
Caol Ila 12
I would like to expand my horizons and education a little and am considering one or more of the following, which I've never tried before:
Bowmore 17 (or maybe Darkest)
Glenfarclas (105 or 21 yo)
I would welcome any thoughts on the above, or any others you would recommend.
I would also recommend the Bunnahabhain 12. Bunnahabhain is consistently very, very good, even though it is not marketed as heavily as other brands. The price is also very reasonable.
The Glenrothes would be my first suggestion, as it is a whisky that belongs in anyone's cabinet, easely accesseble, sweetish with nice honeytones and if your palate develops further it also contains a few subtleties to keep you interested.
Glenfarclas 21 is very complex and if you are relatively new to whisky it might be too hard to find all the flavors and the hints that are in the undertone. However a Glenfarclas 10 might fit your cabinet as it is sherry and bourbon matured and you dont have anything like it in your cabinet now.
