Lagavulin 12yo

Postby peergynt323 » Sat Jul 12, 2014 6:49 am

This is the 2010 edition at 56.5%. I diluted to get it closer to 50%.

Color: Very pale
Nose: Tide pools, kelp, wood smoke, raw shellfish, saltwater taffy
Palate: Ocean water, lemon drops, key lime custard
Finish: Tearjerking and unyielding with ultra-concentrated citrus, white pepper and smoke; resonates for well over a minute

I have had other editions of the 12, but this one is like Lagavulin doing its best impression of Talisker. Merciless on the palate in the best way possible. An exciting and unique dram. :D

I'm a really big fan of the Lagavulin 12. It always gives me this nautical feeling, as if I were on a burning ship or something. LOL

Have much preferred the NCS 12-year old over the 16-year old during these last few years.
