Sazerac 18YO x 1
Weller 19YO x 2
Ardbeg Uigeadail x 2
Safeway Islay (to wind down)
Right now that Ardbeg and the Weller are without doubt my 2 favourite whiskies. The Weller smells of almonds, dates, spices and oak and has so many levels of wood complexity on the palate that after 2 glasses I still don't really get it. I feel priveleged to have tried it.
The Ardbeg is just pure intensity in a glass. I don't think there are many whiskies that can follow a 19YO bourbon but this is actually even more robustly flavoured. The sherry influence adds an extra thread of complexity to the already brilliant 10YO Ardbeg. I will say that the first time I tried it, I added water but it is better neat. Sip it slowly and enjoy the ride
However, I think it would take a pretty spicy meal to dominate the taste of an Ardbeg!

Out of interest, what d'ya reckon it is?
JM bible probably lists what it is, but I won't buy a copy.
