Muscat, Unripe Bananas, Both Apple and Pineapple
Gratifying oiliness. Creamy Almond, Cocoa Butter, Faint Ginger Breads.
Everything is in balance and smooth to the very end. Picking-up some of the fruits from the nose.
Been really enjoying this bottle and will buy another. I initially had this in a Glencairn glass but switched to a small white wine glass because it helped with the nose this time around. This switch in glassware almost had me forgetting what I was drinking because of its smoothness (not just because of the white wine color). This is an example what what I hoped to encounter when first decided to undertake whisky.
Are you folks tasting it neat, or with a few drops of water?
I find with most of my c.s. whisky I add a few drops of water. They all seem remarkably smooth with the higher ABV (particularly my last batch of A'bunadh at 60.6%).
Example: Try topping up the Glenlivet NÃ durra with a touch of Caol Ila Cask Strength... You'll be amazed at how the Islay characteristics of the latter accentuate, by highlighting the contrast between the two malts, the sweetness of the former.
One cask strength single malt I do regularly add a minute quantity of water to, however, is The Macallan as, in this case, I find the water tempers the minimal harshness of the spirit perfectly.

The 48% version is a great drink too.
