Matured in a shaved, refired small ex-Bourbon barrel. Pale gold colour with very pale gold hue. Malty, sweetish, spicy top notes. Dried florals, plum and manuka honey, minty hints emerge, slight salty tang. The palate is on the lighter side; soft and supple, initially malty, above spice and some dried fruits, the back palate shows flavours reminiscent of Christmas fruit mince pies, and a touch of vanilla emerging while the spice persists. Excellent balance. Christmas fruit mince pie characterisitcs re-emerge on the aftertaste. An excellent example of flavour filled, lighter bodied Australian whisky. Put the Port and P.X.
