3 or 4 of Talisker10s list would be in my top 15.

Amongst the more readily available single malt Scotches currently in the marketplace, I'd certainly add Glenlivet 16YO Nadurra Cask Strength and Longmorn 16YO. More esoteric issues? Old Malt Cask 1975 Ardbeg and the distillery's own 1977. Bourbons? George T. Stagg. Japanese? Nikka Yoichi 12YO. Canadian? Crown Royal Cask No.16.

No top ten is complete surely without an Irish Pure Pot Still. It's like a top ten of cars without a Mercedes!

Those are some mighty fine lists. I have read about many of them, although obviously that's all I will ever be able to do is read about most of them. Maybe one day I can ask several family members to go in together and get me a bottle of the Talisker 25 for Christmas.

I guess I can't count..I title a post Top 10, and then list 15 :D

jazz lover, I take it you like Springbank?

Spec's had Springbank 10 on sale for $49 and I almost bought it on my birthday shopping trip but decided against it as it isn't the 2009 bottling, and I have heard not so good things about the bottlings between 2002 and 2008.

Thanks, jazz lover. That was my first trip to Spec's warehouse back last month. My wife and I and the two kids. Our kids just went bonkers over the soda pop aisle. I even found Antarctica Gurana which I became fond of in Brazil. My wife was amazed by the place...and it's even easy to get to, an important thing for a surburbanite!

Longmorn 15
The Balvenie 15

Here's my selection at this exact moment in time but this can shift dramtaically depending on the occasion. Apologies to the Peaty Single Malt fans hoping to find their favourites in here, I'm Irish and of course our palate never really took to smokey tasting whiskey to any real extent - i dip in and out of that world more for experimentation and variety and to see what the fuss is about!

Redbreast 15
Redbreast 12
Jameson 18
Makers Mark
Jameson Gold
Powers 12
Jameson Rarest Vintage
Glenlivet XXV
Jameson Master Distiller Selection
Strathisla Single Malt

Pure Pot Still, Redbreast 12 is tops on my list of something new to try. It sounds like a great whiskey.

Not on purpose, and I can actually count :D I had intended 10 but as I was typing the list it just got longer. There is so much good stuff.

I'm going to make two lists, which are in no particular order and can change dramatically depending upon my mood!

Special bottles (most of which are amazing while a few were memorable for other reasons such as uniqueness):
Lagavulin 21
Ardbeg 1974 Provenance
Random 1970's Ardbeg bottles including OBs from 75, 77, and 78 and single cask releases
Tullibardine 1966 World Cup
G&M Cask 1973 Longmorn
Laphroaig 27
Port Charlotte Bloodtub
Glenrothes OMC 1975
Dewar Rattray 14yo Bowmore
BenRiach 1975

Regular Releases (generally commonly available bottles):
Ardbeg Uigeadail, especially the BC edition L7 325 bottles
Laphroaig 10CS / 15yo (depending upon the mood)
Lagavulin 16 or 12CS (again depending upon the mood)
Bruichladdich PC7
Bruichladdich 3D series
BenRiach 21 Authenticus
Glenfarclas 21
Balvenie 17 and 21
Talisker 18
A'bunadh

Special mention to McCarthey's peated single malt from Oregon USA.

Cheers!
