I received an email from The Dalmore last week with a link to some info on their various whiskies (including The 12).

It's about $60 CDN here. I might have to jump on it before the price increases.

This is on my list of whiskies to try, also. I saw it there when I signed up for the Springbank/BenRiach tasting...didn't realize none of the big box stores have it.

The $10 coupon might be the way to go at the tasting, although I'm hoping to really like one of the peated BenRiach expressions.

I broke down and bought a bottle of this yesterday (don't worry Sean, there were two more bottles sitting there). This was my first Dalmore, and I really like the profile. It could definitely stand to be bottled at a higher ABV. It's an easy drinker, but it leaves you wanting more of everything.

Note that John Hansell just reviewed the whole Dalmore range at http://blog.maltadvocate.com.

Sean - if you want to try it first, I can arrange to get you a sample. Either at the tasting on the 12th, or possibly before if you want to try it before you get your $10 coupon.

After about a 9-month absence, I'm seeing the new trade dress at about $50 U.S., compared to the former $35. It was a favorite at the former price, but whether or not I buy again will depend on how it compares, price-wise, with other bottlings. If all go up commensurately, it's still a bargain. If it's now the same price as Glenmorangie 12yo, less so.

They apparently decided to increase the price of their whole lineup when they re-introduced it. If they can start shipping over here in quantity, maybe we'll see some discounts at the big box stores.

Have not seen the new 12 yet, The new 15 has been here for about 2 month's and they want $85 for it....

The old Dalmore 12 was a steal that is why I have 4 bottles stashed away.
Very nice all around staple that can keep any one happy.

Anyone who wishes is more than welcome to become a guest blogger at the Whyte and Mackay whisky blog - http://www.themasterblender.com - to post their thoughts on the whiskies.

Bought it for $42. Very good every day whiskey. Love the lingering plums in the finish.

Just got a bottle for $29.99 online price. (suddenly a cheaper price?) Maybe the economy was not supporting the new price line. Complex sherry, vanilla, slightest or no peat.. Never had the old bottle. Really one of my favorites immediately. Maple Syrup just popped out. :dead:
