Oatmeal With Whisky and Maple Syrup
-make oatmeal as you normally would.
(I make it with 2 cups water and 1 cup oatmeal)
-remove from stovetop and stir in 1Â¼oz (40ml) of whisky.
-add maple syrup to sweeten as desired.
This is not a joke! To those of you concerned about alcohol intake at breakfast, you worry too much; the alcohol vaporizes when mixed into the hot oatmeal. The remaining whisky esters marry perfectly with maple syrup.
I don't recommend an Islay with this recipe. It works better with sweeter whiskies, like bourbon.

Good idea, especially in parts of the world where maple syrup is pricey.
I like Les Taylor's idea too...I'm working at home tomorrow, so maybe I'll try it!
