Result: AR 3 - AAT 1
AAT won only in "nose in cask strength" where I find the AR missing everything. The AAT has a nice floral note and after a few minutes after that is gone there comes a bready-buttery note.
After adding water the AR wins all as IMHO water does the AAT no good.
The AR has a spicey-peppery-metallic start which is not as bold when diluted, but very pleasing even with lots of water.
I diluted both down to under 25% and the AAT is loosing more and more with adding water.
If I had to vote again I would vote for the AR now.
Now, there's the Beist.. it's difficult to compare as it's not a CS... but the Beist has these flavours and tarry smoke tones that I always link to "old", less citrussy ardbeg.. Aaack. Difficult.
Renaissance or the Beist, I still don't know but between Renaissance and Almost there, I'd say Renaissance too.
