Could I suggest "none of the above". If you are coming to Edinburgh, it would be a shame to go home with whisky you could get anywhere. Why not pop into Cadenhead's and get one of their own bottlings? Or you might call into Royal Mile Whiskies and take away a bottle of their rather good Glenglassaugh.

Where is cadenheads? What bottlings would you recommend?

Cadenheads is on the Royal Mile, but further down that tourists usually go. Its front is painted green and it tends to close at 5 - and not open on Sundays. I wouldn't recommend a specific bottling - you seem to like island whiskies and their island bottlings tend to sell out quite quickly - but they have bottles that range in price from £30 to £100. They are detailed on a big blackboard and the manager is quite happy to talk to customers about the whiskies and he has samples for some bottlings. Even if you don't buy anything, it is worth going just to see the place.
