I started also with the Ten.
I once tried some Lagavulin and instantly threw up...
My friend collects Lagavulin and likes them but everyone else seems to just hate that nasty stuff.
Rushing back from the supermarket, staring at the bottle, nosing it mmm inky lapsang souchong and soft oily peat. Put away about 20cl that evening. At the time I was convinced I would never taste anything better and it's still a favourite.
Not bought a bottle in over 18 months
Laphroaig for me as I adore the QC and realy like the 10yo but the Lagavulin comes very closely behind the Lap QC. The Laga 16yo is an amazing whisky too and as said a brilliant offering as the standard bottling from a distillery, however depending on form sometimes it's too sweet .
