Great idea Drammed had! OK here we go, how about Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength vs. Ardbeg Uigeadail.

It's a real toughie for me, but I had to give the edge to the Ooogie, although I prefer all the standard Laph bottlings (well the ones I have had..10, 10CS, QC, 15) to the Ardbeg 10.

This is a close call ... but the Oogie beats the Laph in the end but not by a KO.

This will make some CRAZY,
but I'm going with Laphroaig.

It's not making me crazy at all. I had to think for a while myself. Could you tell me why you prefer the Laph over the Oogie?

VERY tough! Both are incredibly good whiskies but Laphroaig's raw peaty power just about edged it for me.

It's a very tough call for me as well. If I had included price as a factor the Laph would have won hands down. I can justify $50 on a semi-regular basis, but $80 is a birthday, Christmas kind of thing. Thing is I don't like the Uigeadail nearly as well with water (even a little water) whereas the Laph is great with water. Still, side-by-side, neat..the Oogie edges out.

Realistically I would say the Uigeadail is a bigger
and better whisky, huge and more complex.
Certainly not an entry whisky. This bottle took
me awhile to enjoy,I believe it has a portion of
sherry in the mix that I do not favor.Over all it
has plenty to offer.Laphroaig has a wonderful
medicinal quality I enjoy with a slight sweetness
on the finish.Everyone has different likes and taste
and this is o.k.
Drink, mix and enjoy your whisky the way you like
and don't follow the trends.

I have both bottles opened and have done a side-by-side tasting and Laphroaig 10 CS won it for me. While the Uigeadail is an excellent cask strength Islay nothing beats the Laph CS in terms of sheer power. The highly exhilarating tsunami peat finish says it all!

Cheers!
