New Zealand whiskies
South American whiskies
Vatted Malt whiskies
Single Malt whiskies
Pure pot still whiskies
Cask strength whiskies
Double wood whiskies
Triple wood whiskies
Whiskies without caramel
Non chil filtered
Crown Royal and Coke is, of course, an established classic, though a good middle-of-the-road Bourbon would probably mix just as well.

wow and what about organic hand-craftet, Quarter Cask, cask strength, no caramel, non-chill filtered, triple wood singel malt, direct from the barrel, or a little barre itselft?

I'd say you woud destroy a perfectly good whisky and not the cola. I always go for the cheap whisky like J&B.
I was trying to be ironic, Johan.
did anyone see that video thing with Richard, the guy from White & Mackay, and a barman mixing cocktails. they whisky companies are delighted to have thier product drunk in any way. Then don't even mind if most of it is spilled.
Coca Cola is a little bitter perhaps, Pepsi quite sweet. Aldi do a good own label that seems to accentuate the oily leathery undertones of the whiskey which is okay for home use but it's hard to get ithat particular cola in night clubs!

Still, I think this poll is taking it a bit too far '100point'. Be more brief with the options please.
johan brugge wrote:You're forgiven. I consider this as a youth sin. You didn't know any better. Maker's Mark with coke? That's pitty. It's been several years since I last had a Maker's Mark but I still think it's a great bourbon.
Thank you. Yeah pretty much a youth sin. No I didn't. I haven't had Maker's Mark since than tho. Mainly been SMS or other spirits like tequila and vodka.
johan brugge wrote:I've tried to mix coke with vodka but it gave me a terrible headache. For some reason I can't take a vodka. Not to worry. There is plenty of whisky to live on.
Vodka and coke sounds rather disgusting. I usually drink it on the rocks. Well there are a lot of people who can't take vodka. Yes there definitely is.

Cola drinks are fairly assertive on their own, so you need an assertive whisky as a complement. Forget the Lowlanders, the Speysides, the Highlanders, the Bourbons, the Ryes, the Canadians...forget everybody.
You need the cheapest rotgut available: that way, you wont cry in your drink for wasting a $20 dram mixed with crappy cola.

my answer would be - a nice black bowmore
I am warning both of you. Georgia moon with coke is a bad idea! Actually, Georgia Moon is a bad idea period
You actually could ruin the coke with Georgia Moon, had it a long time ago think I mixed it with coke quite disgusting. Not sure what you would mix georgia moon with. I think the toilet would be a good idea or polish a chrome bumper

I just don't know wether to call it Coca Ila or Caol Cola...
I think that Coca Caol sounds better.
