I look forward to getting my hands on some to give it a try.

Green label is available in Quebec.

Not that I would suggest or condone the illegal transportation of liquor across provincial borders of course...

Black is my fav by far,

I have been drinking whisky for about 10 years now, until recently i had never looked at blends. i was a whisky snob without knowing why. Black for the money is outstanding in my opinion. I have spent twice this on a single malt thats not as good.

Now i always have black in stock!

my vote is for Black label 8)

I have never tasted green and gold labels, but I'm sure they are good, too

I prefer Johnie Walker Black Label for its smooth, sweet cinnamon, caramel and some spiciness taste...That is a great whiskey with a lot of flavours

Hi,

Have bought both Blue & Gold. Sniffed a Red but refused to let it touch me!!
Have not tried the Green.

From my readings the Blue seems to always be talked about as the best tasting but the price point seems to be contentious.

I bought a standard Blue when it was on a serious special and it is half way down.
Bought the Gold for Christmas with family and must say, though it was lovely, my opinion is that is did not have anything on the Blue.

When drinking blends, I must say that my all time favorite is the Black Label, I also enjoy the Gold Label as well... :smoke: 8)

Black for me, which I believe is the best value pound for pound, which in my pocket is still quite important!

Gold over Green, but only barely. I like Swing a lot too (see avatar). I think I give the edge to Gold, because Green is aggressive enough that it makes me wish I had a single malt.

I've got the Green and Gold open at home and always go for the Green for some reason.

I sense a general mood not too favourable to the Red label. The price of whisky being quite high, here in Quebec (we pay a hidden tax of 40%), I always keep a bottle of Red label around, either to make drinks or to drink with ice during very torrid, summer evenings. I find it to be a good, easy drinkable dram with a nice, classic twist of taste. It has been a good companion for me in time of misery, and I won't let it down. Besides, I find it to be a bit underrated. Voilà.
The Black label is sold around here at about the same price as the 12yo Glenlivet, for instance, or the 10yo Aberlour, the 12yo Glendronach, the 12yo Glenfiddich, etc. Tamdhu is even less expensive... Every time, I'll personally go with the single. In night clubs, often only blends are available, and in such occurrences, my choice always goes for the black label, that I find sufficiently complex with its smoke, its nuttiness and its slightly buttery feel. Love it.
For some reason, I don't like the Green label. I admit I only had it in clubs either, so it's more difficult for me to make a definite judgement. I can't quite put my finger on it; it seems too heavy to me, a bit overbearing. I love the peaty stuff, I love every single whisky that enters the composition of the Green label, yet I haven't come to like it as of now. As to the Blue and Gold labels, I've had the privilege of tasting both at a few receptions. I liked both but I certainly wouldn't pay for either myself. I find you can have much better singles for the same prices.

No question about it Black rules! Once saw it priced the same as Red some restaurants really don't know whisky.
