When is your favourite time of the day to drink Whiskey?

All the options are very suitable. However before a meal is definitely my favourite time.

I usually prime the system with a couple of glasses before breakfast to manage through to lunch.

Just joking of course. I always drink after dinner and more usually after 1900/2000. I'm not comfortable drinking any alcoholic beverage before I've had something to eat.

I'd have to say my nose is at its best prior to eating lunch, it's unfortunate that I don't get the opportunity to make the most of it tho.

I know why... it's so you can make us jealous by posting about the mid-afternoon dram you're enjoying whilst listening to a beautiful piece of music, while we're at work

I'm usually in the mood after dinner, as a digestive. But if the mood craves whisky before dinner or in the afternoon or earlier, I usually don't hesitate.

Treacle you are so right. I've thought that about Dubois for a long time. I reckon he must start work about 5 am and then has a relax when he gets home. :)

Whisky time!

Dunno, usually 6pm on a Friday night collapsed over the bar (from exhaustion, not booze) after a long week at work.

Usually whisky is for me a reward after a day of work :P so, nite cap mostly *and not every night anyway*. Then, I can chill out and enjoy one or 2... or 3...
But still, a CS in a flask when we go fishing is a must 8)

I'm a night cap drinker mostly.
Feet up with either a book or the days news on the telly. One glass and off to bed.

I agree an all of the above option should have been included. If I had to choose only one...after a meal it would be.

That's it exactly. After 45 mins of chasing two monkeys around the house to get them to go to bed I generally need a few drams of the good stuff.

I am home from work around 4:15pm. Around 5:30pm is 'happy hour' at home. I pour myself a dram of whisky while the wife makes concoction. She may have wine or martini or some drink with bright color in it. Another dram during dinner and thats it.

On vacation, I drink anytime I want.

I've had whisky at most every time of day (except breakfast) and I would have to say that my favorite time - my very favorite time - is at the end of the day, after I've taken a shower and am ready to relax.

My absolute favorite time of day to drink whisky is around 10:00 or 11:00am, in a distillery visitors' center, preferably with horizontal rain outside. Even Bowmore tasted good in those conditions.

For me it's before dinner. I find my nose and palate is more sensitive so I get more out of what i'm drinking. I enjoy drinking a few hours after dinner too but sometimes the meal can adversely effect the taste of whisky.

Honestly? Whenever I get "the urge" would be most appropriate for my habits.

I generally have a dram after dinner but have been known to dram earlier in the day - especially if the online tasting has been set up for 6 pm GMT. Then I'm dramming at noon!

Good question, I hope more people take the time to respond.

usually late night before I pass out. Nothings worse than waking hours later realizing half your drink is flat, gone to the dogs

99% of the time it is nightcap only for me. On rare occasions I'll open a new bottle right after the purchase during the day, and rarely I'll have something around dinnertime.

I don't pair malt whisky with food or see it as an after dinner drink. It's just pure pleasure in the evening before bed, and after a long stressful day it surely hits the spot.

I don't think its "fair" to only let us pick one option. That's like having three bottles out and saying you can only try one. :)
That said, after work and before dinner. And it's always nice to knock off work early and eat later... :)

Rarely before 10.30pm, usually to accompany a tv programme, DVD or something on the radio.
