Isn't life funny! I arrived home just now to find a package waiting for me with a bottle of Isle of Arran 10yo inside and a note saying that I am their January winner!

It even says so on their site:

http://www.arranwhisky.com/MonthlyCompetition.aspx

Hahaha! Brilliant!

See, it works!

Hey Bute well done. The only thing I ever won in a competition is an electric lawnmower.

Ah, but now your secret identity is revealed :)

Well done Mark

Haha, you could have found that out by clicking around a few links

Thanks guys. I think I was lucky because the site had just been revamped and I spotted it early - was probably only a few submissions (maybe just me!).

Okay, get entering! It could be you next month!

I have another one, but can I enter again? Ah, what the heck...

Well done Bute! I won't enter the Arran if you don't enter the Benromach competition. Then I'll have more chance of winning ;)

Not a competition, but a freebie... get a complimentary Monkey Shoulder cocktail if you sign up to their website. Good if you like cocktails and live in London.

Get the highest score in the game and they say you'll win a bottle of Whyte & Mackay.

Except I scored 546 and the board hasn't updated.*shrug*.

Good looking book there butephoto, congratulations! Another win to chalk up, good for you! They keep telling me I can't win unless I play, and I'm trying to prove them wrong.

I emailed Whyte And Mackay about this competition when the score reached 798 which I felt was *extremely* unlikely!

They ignored me.

The current high score - 847 is IMHO *impossible*. Simon Hartl has managed to shoot all of the lions with perfect accuracy in less than 3 elapsed seconds! On my computer you don't even get to see a 1/4 of the lions in that time.

If they have been using the same competition for a few months then Mr Forit, with a score of 889 was IMHO a cheat!

So should I:

a) Ignore it, and let live.
b) Email Whyte and Mackay for a second time.
c) Submit my own ficticious high score with a ficticious name!

Rufus.
