EU alcohol ruling cheers traders
Retailers have responded with relief to a European Court ruling allowing consumers to buy drinks and cigarettes online at lower duties from abroad.

Does this really affect us in relation to whiskey. I think NO becuse whiskey is a more expensive commodity so you buy less at any one time anyway. Say you buy 12 bottles of whiskey it could easily cost you 500Euro. Imagine the amount of cheap wine and/or cigarettes you could buy with that money???? I think this ruling mainly affects bulk buying of wine & cigarettes. I get regular shipments of 6-12 bottles from Germany and do not have any issues as it is.
