Read it and weep...

The Northern Echo from the north of England has an awful sad tale in their online edition:

http://www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk/dis ... s_name.php

>>Whisky galore as Scotch Corner lives up to its name

>>SCOTCH Corner certainly lived up to its name when a lorry load of whisky tippled over.

>>Dozens of bottles of scotch smashed in their cases as the Mercedes lorry had a spill onto the southbound A1 sliproad - closing the famous North Yorkshire junction for ten hours.

The part I love is that they closed the corner for 10 hours to hose down the whisky...they must have done it a dram at a time...and just think of the aroma!
