Dodgy Auction website

Postby oklima » Sat Feb 06, 2016 7:36 pm

Beware: I have been screwed by Whisky-OnlineAuctions this week.

I was the leading bidder on a Glenfarclas 1954 Family Casks at £1,150, but an hour or so before the auction ended, this lot (0116/503) simply disappeared from the website with no explanation.

It has been a few days now and they have not responded to my messages, so I am going to go down the route of reporting them to trading standards and see where it goes from there.

Surely they have no right to do that??? I know they also have a shop, so maybe put the bottle on auction and pulled it when they didn't like the price.

Not the first time I have seen weird things on there, and despite having successfully bought a few bottles from them, I doubt I'll ever use them again.
