I usually sip down about 180 ml straight a night or a little over 6 ounces.
I use to drink 5-6 nights a week but have lately been able to cut down a bit.
Jokes apart my question is that will a higher quality or better distilled Whisky be less toxic to the liver and or esophagus than a cheaper lower quality beverage? Or is the impact based only on the percentage and amount of pure alcohol?
It would appear that the mystery malt, the Cadenheads Islay CS is a Lagavulin. I did a head to head with the 16 yo 43% Laggy and the nose is nearly identical, at the very least the same family. Colour of the CS is pale yellow as opposed to the reddish gold of the 16. The palate is spicy and warming for both of them and the finish is nearly identical with a warming and long spiciness and sweetness.
A very nice dram, quite enjoyable.
gentle burn at the back of the throat on the way down. Nice viscosity , evenly coats the glass. After 45+ years of Pipe Smoking my taste buds are toast. So no tasting notes
But I will be buying another when this is finished.
