I think the stuff from the last 5 to 6 years is much improved over the ones I had when I first started out back in the 1990s.
Or, like me, in the 1970s-1980s. Undoubtedly, tighter control over distillation runs, better cask management and greater consistency have all had a positive effect on more recent releases. There seems to be an increased depth and roundness to Glenlivet 12 Year Old over the last few years.
