I've been giving the rum some serious thought, same with the Springer (which is actually cheaper here than the old 100proof ). I would much appreciate if you'd send me a PM when you've tried them, which with your record I recon will be just after work tommorow.
Will PM you tonight SC. Where I bought the 12 from it was the same price as the regular 10, go figure.
A rather lovely Talisker 57 North was given to me. This has been on my radar for ages.
Last night I was gifted a Royal Salute blended whisky from the "Hundred Cask Selection" - Is this any good? I am a bit staggered by the values that I am seeing for this stuff, although it is in a rather beautiful Ceramic bottle.

Picked up a Singleton of Glendullan, a Tullibardine Sauternes cask finish and 4 bottles of Aberlour A'Bunadh batch 30. Roughly $500.00 Canuckistan dollars and three different MLCC stores.
Musky, do you really like batch 30 or are you also buying for other people?
Either I'm far too generous or bloody dumb!
To console myself, there's a batch 28 heading my way from Thunder Bay.
A not so glum Musky
Glenfarclas 25 Year Old... For me, this one remains one of the best value, well aged Scotches around.
Like I don't know!

I believe Musky is hours away from those $35 bottles which are quickly running out this week. I hope he gets some if he wants, if he has a source or a transfer but I think vintage store transfers only happen after 2 weeks.
On the other hand:

For me, the most recent acquisition has been Penderyn Madeira Finish, though this one was a gift and not a purchase.
TTD: Nope regular Manitoba price. Sometimes they have better prices than Ontario, sometimes they are higher.

Now to see about this $35 Kilchoman in Winterpeg!
Come here! you can find it for $89.99 no PST!!
I'm trying to access 2 of them through a buddy. None in Manitoba, it's all in Ontario so far Just received my batch 28 today from the LCBO for $5.00 more than in Alberta. Luckily it wasn't the 29, which I understand has a burnt rubber taste to it.
The problem with Kilchy at $35.00 is that it will appeal to the cheapsters as well as the collectors. Got to move fast!

I alerted a good friend in Toronto concerning the availability of Kilchoman (particularly given that I was mightily impressed by the cask strength 'new spirit' from the distillery I tried last year in Scotland), and am hoping he can nab a bottle for each of us.

where's the emoticon for jealousy?
The universe owed us, we were due for a break.
Picked them up in the Fort Frances LCBO which has a superior selection to that in our local shop.
