Exactly what I thought when I first them out if the box JB, I could have almost licked the bottles. In real life they look even better.

No whisky today but a true authentic Belgian beer called Maredsous triple at 10 %. An excellent strong beer!

Hart Brothers Springer 11 Portwood.

Have had a couple of bottles of this and never really found where the portwood comes into the profile. Still one of the best whiskys I've ever had.

..when what to my wondering eyes should appear .... a new to me offering from Springbank the Longrow CV.

NAS so it's gotta be a young whisky, something that I've confirmed browsing the threads just now. Scooped it up this morning about an hour ago simply because I don't have any Longrow at all in the Lair and had never seen one on this side of the pond.

Egads. Hope to see a review of that up on nonjatta! I pretty much know nothing about Kirin whiskies, my experiences with them have been to do with beer and nothing else.

Are congratulations in order?

Thanks Sean, but nothing recent. 2009 brought a son and two nephews into the fold. I've just been waiting for the MVR 2009 to be available. This frisky family of mine will see me bankrupt.
