RMW deliverd a bottle of Yamazaki Sherry Cask this morning. I grabbed a bottle from Gordon & Macphail on New Years Eve (just before Elgin closed down due to a blizzard) and one I cracked it open I had to get another. :iwbrnt:

I must say, after tasting this for the first time, the oogie is not much better on the palate than the 10yo.

In this case, stay with the ten and send me all your abandoned Oogie :)

Funny haha :) Starts like the speyside it is and boom, peat ! A tad of a clash between the super sweet and the peated but the mix was quite nice with a few added drops of water!

A quick trip to the Signature liquor store in downtown Montreal to nab...

Arran Single Bourbon Cask 46%ABV
Arran Single Sherry Cask 46%ABV

Happened to encounter a female customer there, shopping for a gift for her boyfriend, who was asking the staff particulars regarding the flavour profile of the latest Oban Distillers Edition. After a brief discussion, I managed to convince her to instead opt for the 3x200ml packaging of Talisker 10YO, DE and 18YO.

Think I did good.

What size are those bottles? Over here we get the 4-200ml set for $99US, but that looks different.

Nice purchase IWC - now that I know the "four pack" exists I'll look for it at the taxfree.

Came home with a few exiting beers from the Wine Monopoly today. I'm familiar with the Geuze which is stunning, and also the "Dobbel dose IPA from Haandbryggeriet. The Nøgne Ø Andhrimnir Barley Wine and Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome Ale are both new to me.

I bought a Rochefort '8' a few days ago. It was OK but nowhere near as good as the '10'.
