When I have my whisky with ice and/or ginger ale (yes, thats right I said ICE) it is a noisier drink. Of course I don't do this with single malts. Maybe it plays a small part in why I sometimes like drinking my Forty Creek like that.
I don't like glug-glugs, I like smooth consistent pours.
Of course there are times we think our whiskies are singing to us and some find disturbing. Whats more disturbing is when you start singing to your whisky.

No sound sweeter to me (and this goes for wine as well) than that of a cork being pulled from the top of a bottle.
