Glenlivet 18 and It had a certain fond memory as it was priced by mistake at the 12y/o price. (about NZ$55) I did point out the mistake to the shop assistant but she said I could have it for the quoted price because she was too busy to look up the correct price and it wasn't her shop anyway she just worked there To her credit though, when I suggested she sell me the other 8 bottles for the same money she refused

A little run on finishing means I'm down to 41 open and 30 closed. Polished off :

Dalwhinnie 15, Bowmore "Legend" and Isle of Jura 10.

Starting to clear the bottles from when I started to collect.

Had a rummage around the cupboard and a few more could be hitting the bin soon, although I am definitely going to have an opening spree following the big 5-0 next week.

CI 12, fondly replaced by its cask strength sibling. The Balvenie Doublewood is on the ropes...

Chivas The century of Malts. Should have purchased at least a case of this superb whisky way back when. But then, I probably would have still gone through it all by now anyway.

RM 30 YO Royal Lochnagar 1974, 56.2% abv. Bottle no. 4319.
Shared the last dram with a guest.
It was a damned fine dram while it lasted: April 29, 2006 - Nov 10, 2010.

Crown Royal Special Reserve... A lovely Canadian, to be sure. But its ultra-smooth style falls just short of the greater palate excitement factor offered by either the less expensive Limited Edition or the more expensive (and quite superb) Cask No. 16.

Then onto some Glenfarclas 25 Year Old.

You didn't take it to the Beer Store for your refund? Obviously not a Northerner! I am now searching for my next sacrifice to Bacchus.

Have some of this in reserve, so your positive consumption rate tends to bolster my expectations.

L7 057 Oogie. Great stuff. I think I prefer it to an L10 that I tried recently

I had this same experience with the Ten. The L7 was distinctly better to my mind. The L9 (in this case) seemed dirtier if that makes any sense.

Dalmore Cigar Malt. I purchased the bottle quite a while ago, and mostly out of curiosity. Much prefer the 12 Year Old for its clarity.
