I also got some vouchers ...
Matthew: Mrs Musky brought the same 3 pack from Edmonton and gifted it to me this morning. I've not yet opened and sampled them yet. Also received an iPOD Nano from my daughter and a large flat screen TV for the Lair from another family member - along with a voucher for the LCBO!

Musky is very very happy.

A set of beautiful crystal decanters and brandy snifter glasses :) I know it's not super duper to keep whisky in but it looks really good.

Hey presto I got a lovely surprise of a Laphroaig 15yo.

Delighted as it is getting hard to come by now.

I had a couple of bottles under the tree on Christmas morning:

1. Laphroaig QC
2. Germain-Robin XO alambic brandy

I also bought a Scott's Selection 1977/2004 Glenlivet that was opened Christmas Eve with my in-laws. An excellent, Nadura-like 'livet.

The Germain-Robin XO brandy is amazing. If you're a sherry cask whisky lover, you really should try this. It's also very "accessible" for your friends who only drink spirits occasionally.

I just remembered a gift that I got for Christmas (whisky related). Not a bottle, but I did get a set of 8 Teroforma Whisky Stones. They are a soapstone, made in Vermont. The idea is to chill your whisky without diluting or changing the flavor.

I hadn't even heard of these before, does anyone have experience with something like this? I drink my whisky neat, but I suppose it could be interesting to see how chilling it, without diluting, could change things. Any thoughts?

I second that Nick. Why would you chill a single malt anyway? Maybe it would work fine with some blended whiskies in the summer.

I know, that's what I was thinking. I rarely even add water, forget about ice! But after all, it was a gift, and not something I had asked for. I wasn't about to say "What the heck am I to do with these?" :headbang:

Nice , very nice - a rather piquant pair of whisky Daveski.

I also received (along with the three pack) a LCBO gift certificate. It will be put to very good use - the continued expansion of the whisky collection.
