Taste of Dublin Festival

I was at the Taste of Dublin Festival today. I didn't expect much in the way of whiskeys but I was completely wrong on that score and I fairly staggered out after all the samples of wine, whiskey, beer, liqueurs, etc.

Stands included: Cooley, Hot Irishman, Celtic Whiskey Shop, Coole Swan, Irish Mist, Mitchell & Son (Green Spot). I've written up more on a posting on my blog. The festival runs for a few more days.

I'm afraid Taste of Dublin makes me think of kidneys rather than whisky, but I guess I'm a bit too fond of Ulysses.

Whatever you're into :D Now would be the right time to indulge.

Mr. Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and
fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast
heart, liver slices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencod's roes. Most
of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a
fine tang of faintly scented urine.

I too am surprised with the amount of Whiskey that was there. Must keep thatin mind fr next year so as I won't get to it this year ... :(

Hi David,
Thank you so much for writing the report on the Taste of Dublin Festival. The whiskey selection seems to have pleasantly caught enthusiasts off guard. It looks like a fantastic event.

I also appreciated that you asked John Teeling, ED of Cooley's, about the rationale behind the exclusive release of the Greenore 10 yo to Canada. That was quite informative. It is a good thing that the LCBO didn't realize how exclusive the product was to the Canadian market, oresle, I might have seen a different price tag on that bottling!
