Feis Ile 2011

Postby Drammed » Tue Jan 11, 2011 8:12 pm

Does anyone have the listing of the hosting distilleries for the 2011 Feis Ile festival? I tried to go onto their website but i can not seem to access it from Canada or the USA. I booked a hotel (B&B) for 3 nights and I was wondering which places i'll see.

Cheers :D

Thanks Willie.

That looks like the same lineup as last year. Is it the same every year?

For the information, you can go to: http://www.whisky-news.com/En/Events.html and click on the Feis Ile. It will open the link to the official page of festival.

The Port Ellen Malting Floors tour is on Monday. If your there then it's a worthwhile tour specially if your a Port Ellen fan (like me).

Have a great time at the Feis!

Cheers!

Thanks guys,

I can't seem to get the pages to open for Canada but i thank you anyway. I will be arriving on Islay on the evening of monday may 23 and leaving the morning of thursday may 26th so I really have 2 full days to explore the island. I believe that would be the Laphroaig and Bowmore hosting days. Not my favourites but it will give me a chance to see the rest of the island too :iwbrnt:

Does any knows which bottles will be released for the Festival?
I have seen the news for the Kilchoman bottling and the 2 Bowmore, but nothing else.

the arbdeg bottles did not sell out on the dayt, (there were 1200 this year), I know someone who phoned up the shop direct and bought one this week. Despite that, they are selling for £250+ on ebay, so worth giving Jackie a ring if you want one! I think its really interesting whisky, not sure how much I like it yet but its interesting.

We are doing a tasting pack of the festival bottlings, choose seven for £65+£2.95 postage, 50ml of each.

http://www.thewhiskytastingclub.co.uk/i ... asting.php

or mix and match your own choice
-Ardbeg; £13.
distilled 1998, bottled 2011 at 55.1% abv. 1200 bottles. Sherry matured.
-Bowmore; £7.50.
Laimrig. Aged 15 years, 54.4% abv. 500 bottles. Sherry finish.
-Bruichladdich; £6.50.
18.06.98: Ancien Regime. Aged 12 years, 46%. 2000 bottles. 100% Bourbon casks. 11.09.01: Renaissance. Aged 9 years, 46%. 2000 bottles. 100% Bourbon casks.
-Bunnanahbain; £11.50.
130th Anniversary Limited Edition. Aged 14 years, 59.6%. 472 bottles. Cognac finish.
-Caol Ila; £11.50.
Cask 301,696. Aged 11 years, 64.3% abv. 600 bottles. Bodega casks.
-Kilchoman; £10.00.
Aged 5 years, 59.5% abv. 500 bottles. Sherry finish (4 months)
-Lagavulin; £11.50.
Cask 1715, aged 13 year old, 51% abv. Bourbon casks.
-Laphraoig; £6.50.
Cairdeas Ileach Edition. Aged 8 years, 50.5% abv. Bourbon casks

(we have all eight, but can only fit seven in a pack). Mail pat@thewhiskytastingclub.co.uk to order.
