Well, Mark, Dave has certainly put up a few good arguments about choosing VWF over TO Whisky Live...but, for the sake of being completely bias and selfish, I would vote that you would consider attending both! Mostly because at this stage, I know that I will be definitely attending the Toronto event...

I'd agree with Lawrence...slowly working my way through a bottle of Ballantine's 17, and it really is a good whisky, blended or not!

Oi be drinkin' mostly Glenlivet 18, a present from me mammy on 'earin' the news that our next nipper'll be a boy, so the scan says. So oi toasted the imminent arrival into the noight, enjoyin' the robust classic speysider at my disposal, with its fruity, spicy intrigue...not quite as rich or in yer...

Gigi at Pissaro's Hastings.2 free drinks per band member. Best house dram was glenmorangie 10, so me and the bass player went for that. But, oh dear...these pitiful 25cl portions!! Always reminds me of that glenlivet advert with the 2 gnarly scotsman staring at the camera with disdain, and the capt...

As mentioned in the "what did you drink last night" forum, I picked up an Aberfeldy 12 for a friend's going-away party...and may have to go back and get another bottle today. Found it for $35 at one of the local stores...have never seen it anywhere else in the area for less than $45!

Bought a bottle of Aberfeldy 12 to take to a friend's house last night...they're moving back to Germany after four years here on assignment. The Aberfeldy will not be making the trip...we killed that sucker off at the going-away party!

Like Admiral, I have part of a bottle left from a published letter. The second edition is indeed a blend, and it's an excellent one at that! I think my tasting notes are probably somewhere on the forum from last year...

Of course, if Rob and the guys were publishing a weekly...then I'd expect faster delivery... ;)

Agreed, Les...sometimes the best interviews need to have a little room to breathe. If the format is going to be "20 questions with...", that's one thing, but there's no way to do an in-depth interview in one page that has any perspective...

Seems to me there's an easy solution...buy them both! Of course, if that's not an option, then I'd go for the Longmorn 15 while you can still get it...the Strathisla 12 should be around for a long time.

Interesting. The Glendullan really reminds me a lot of Johnny Walker Black.

Since Glendullan has rarely been released as a single malt, I suspect that's where most of the distillery's output winds up...hadn't made that connection, though...good catch!

What's The Singleton, Les? Is it something like the old Singleton of Auchroisk? If so, now I know where that disappeared to, export only :( The Singleton series is Diageo's attempt to create a mid-range single malt brand aimed at blend drinkers who want to move up to malts, but don't want to spend ...
