Re: Glenfarclas Chairman's Reserve 41yo - Signed charity bottle

Now at £370, but still a total bargain compared with the Glenfarclas 40yo core range bottling

Re: Glenfarclas Chairman's Reserve 41yo - Signed charity bottle

The current bid for this charity lot (£250 comm excl) is still £100 less than the original 2011 RSP.

Glenfarclas Chairman's Reserve 41yo - Signed charity bottle

Since leaving HMRC, I've volunteered three days a week at the HQ of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA). Last month, I persuaded George Grant (Sixth generation of family which owns Glenfarclas) to donate a signed bottle of Glenfarclas Chairman's Reserve 41yo to the SIA. This is now being auctioned...

Re: Drinkfinder - 50yo Speysider (d.1957? b.- 2007) - £275!!

Since I posted about this on several forums last night, Drinkfinder has sold all bar three bottles. The company has also increased the price to £399. Still very, very good value in my humble opinion, but not the bargain that it was yesterday.

Drinkfinder - 50yo Speysider (d.1957? b.- 2007) - £275!!!

I've just bought a bottle of this and thought that I'd share the details in case anyone else fancies getting one. Back in 2007, Constantine Stores in Cornwall (aka Drinkfinder) celebrated their 50th anniversary. They commissioned Gordon & Macphail (without doubt the most famous independent bottl...

House of Rare Whisky, Netherlands - Excellent

It is rare that an online retailer merits "five stars", but HofRW certainly does. Prior to placing my order, I asked lots of questions (not least because I was nervous of buying from the European Mainland). Each email was courteously and fully answered. On the Saturday morning that I order...

Re: best whisky auction site in united kingdom

From a seller's perspective, Scotch Whisky Auctions used to be the best. Not so now sadly. Firstly, their selling commission is much higher than others. Secondly, the sheer volumes of the self-same bottling mean that buyers don't get into bidding wars over a single lot. Rather, they've sometimes ten...

Jim Murray's mystery 97.5/100 Linkwood - Unmasked

In Whisky Bible 2015, Jim scored awarded a massive 97.5/100 (the equal highest score ever awarded to any whisky) to a 'newly tasted' Gordon & Macphail Linkwood. So, what's the story of this mystery Linkwood, I hear you cry. Well, it was a single cask bottling in October 2013 of a Linkwood distil...
