Re: Supermarket Deals

JTW..what is/was the Ardmore like? I've never tried it. My local Co-op is almost outside my front door but had none. No Glenmorangie 10 for 19.99 either. Re: Tescos Islay

At our local branch there have been 2 batches on the shelf , L5 and L7 , tried L7 and then went back and bought several more bottles...... Can thoroughly recommend it ! It's certainly a lot better than the previous tesco bottles ( The Ardnave , Glencairn ?) . Excuse my ignorance but where do you fi...

Re: Tescos Islay

Good question!

I'd like to know as well. Some older discussions seem to refer to a different bottling, commenting on added caramel.
The current version is very light and I agree very palatable.
Maybe it changes fairly frequently.

Any clues?

Re: How many CLOSED bottles do you have?

The reason to keep many bottles unopened is because if a bottle is lower than half filled, and is not finished within a certain period, the taste starts to change. Is this change serious/adverse? I guessed there must be some storage effects, I had a bottle of Jack Daniels open for years (not at all...

Re: Your Favorite Bowmore

As a learner I haven't tried enough to have a favourite, the only bottle I've bought as Bowmore was a 15yr old "mariner" which I thought was OK but tasted "soapy" if that makes any sense. I do have some 21 yo "Single Islay Malt" from the Wine Society which I believe may...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCTION AREA

Hello all, I'm Ian and new around here (except for occasional lurking around the site looking at tasting notes and tracking down supermarket bargains!) Though it was about time I joined. I've been drinking whisky on and off for over 30 years, so no spring chicken though I am by no means a connoisseu...
