Glenlivet. Distilled in 1967 (my birth year) and bottled in 1998 (My son's birth year). Special for the dates and the distillery as I worked for Chivas in Speyside many moons ago. He will get the bottle when he turns 21.

How lucky am I to live in Speyside? You don't know how lucky until you move to Ross-Shire! Nice pic of Aberlour.

I agree with your taste, Makers Mark is a splendid dram. For those who have not tried it, you should. I also enjoy Longmorn 15, Strathisla 21 and The Dalmore Cabernet Sauvingnon.

Lochan Ora was produced by Chivas at Renfrew Road, Paisley and was a spicy wee number. Very nice.

Willie,

Go to the Moulin Pub. Real Ale (brewed on site) and good food. Worth the short walk up the hill - it's downhill all the way home.

Re: Sample bottles

Hi, it may seem obvious but don't fill sample bottles right to the neck and then seal the lid. If they get warm, the thermal expansion will fracture the bottle and you'll lose everything (including any paperwork around at the time!!!!). It's amazing how often this happens.
