Karuizawa 1967 42 year cask 6246 58.4% TWE 10th Anniversary

Nose You can smell the wood here and very old cherry of course. Burnt treacle, balsamic glaze, dark fruit jams, dark plum skins. Oxo drink, beef but the top layer of meat when cooked and gone slightly crispy. Something like chocolate orange with plain chocolate. Whiffs of peat smoke mixed in with da...

Re: Macallan 50 year old whisky in Lalique decanter

Happily, I sold my three bottles. The capital gains tax was miserable but still an amazing investment. pj This I am afraid just about sums up everything that is wrong with the whisky world at the moment. People are more interested in buying for investment purposes than drinking and enjoying which i...

only use a decanter that has a really good snug fitting stopper otherwise air will get to it very quickly and you will end up throwing it out.

Since June 2010 when I last put a response on here, I can absolutely say with some conviction Inchgower and Teaninich can produce some great drams, especially some of the IB euro bottlers.

I agree with whiskygeek about buying stuff you like, just ignore any links to so called experts who tell you what to invest in, they are the reason why mere mortals cannot afford anything anymore. Investors in whisky have killed the market in the last 3-4 years, you are wasting your time trying to c...

So I went to Costco tonight to pick up some stuff. Picked up a bottle of Speyburn Bradan Orach. Thought it was $20 for a 1.75. Got to the counter and it was $13. I went back and made it a 6 pk. Going to get a small cask and do some aging. 8) Have I read that correct 13 dollars for 1.75 litres?? If ...

I have used all the various auctions over the past few years and I have to say as far as speed of shipping, variety of bottles on offer each month and functionality of the site https://www.whisky-onlineauctions.com is by far the best. I pay a little more for the shipping but the quality of the pack...
