Re: A New Lover of Whiskey

thats for the advice, now im just curious if you drink your whiskey warm like you are supposed to (I think...) or on the rock. I drink it room temperature, althought sometimes i add a little water to it, like a teaspoonful, used to use ice chips but now i prefer it room temp. Does anyone here throw...

Re: A New Lover of Whiskey

In Irish whiskies I would say Tullamore Dew Or Jamesons are good choices in that price range For Scotch I would try johnnie Red and Black labels, Glenlivet 12yo, and Dewars White Label. GlenLivet is the only Single malt in there, and dont let anyone tell you how mainstream or how boring a selection ...

pencil vs million dollar pen is false, both space programs initially used pencils, and when a guy named fisher did develop a pen to use in spavce, he did not charge anyone for his time or effort, he gave it to NASA

Re: Johnnie Walker Green Label

I was skeptical too, being a single malt man. Buy lo and behold i have tried all the JW Colors and have found them to be quite nice, not necessarily drunk neat, depending on the color. Black and Gold i like neat. green i like to add just a few drops of water, it changes the taste dramatically.

Re: WM69 Round Table Question

The answer to this question will be very subjective. Most Likely it will not be dependent on the whisky's age or price. The enjoyment of Whisky is all about flavor and aroma. If i were to mix a batch of whisky and put this in 5 sepearate but identical barrels and age them differently, say 12, 15, 18...

Maybe he could run it like my Looseleaf law books. They vome in a binder, 3 ring style, you buy the books then you subscribe to say quarterly updates, then they just reprint the pages for the new drams sampled and you insert them in to your book, and remove the old ones. Works for my Law books and m...

Re: How many open bottles do you normally have?

I usually have a few open, the more expensive bottles are the first dram of the night, then i usually switch to a more mainstrem, ie cheaper, dram. Last night it was Ardbeg 10 to start, 1 glass, then i wanted some Jameson 12yo 1780 to finish the night off.

Re: WM67 Round Table Questions

1. No. Its all a matter of personal taste. How the blend is made is more important to my taste then how old it really is. 2. Yes. Blends tend to be cheaper than their single malt counterparts. A good blend can be bought for under 30 dollars (American) while i am hardpressed to come up with a good si...

If the glass has been left out overnight uncovered, I'll wager the whisky isn't too good--it doesn't take too long for the good stuff to evaporate out. As said above they do let you carry duty free onboard now which is fine as long as you don't need to connect (unless you are going through customs they'll likely just move your luggage to the next plane and you won't be able to pack the duty free items). You do have the opportunity to repack though...
