While Laphroaig is associated with those maritime peated notes we all know and love, it is not a islay. It's an island whisky from the Isle of Mull. Damm good stuff though. I think it will be my next bottle

I am very new to the scotch hoarding scene. I have a small collection consisting of: Tamdhu 10yo Kilchomin Machir bay Dalmore 12yo Smooth ambler old scout 10to bourbon Vault: Yamazaki 12yo Lagavulin 16yo I have a taste for Laphroaig, but I also love the tastes from the Highlands and spey side region...

I recently picked up a bottle of Yamazaki 12 yr. Was that a mistake? Should I go out of my way to grab one of the hibiki whiskys?
