Re: Ardbeg 17 vs Lagavulin 12

I have recetly discovered a secret stash containing a Ardbeg 17 and Lagavulin 12. I have been given the option of taking only one, and I am buggered if I can choose. OK - I'm easily confused at the best of times - but is this a self-imposed restriction or is someone holding a gun to your head??? Ri...

Re: Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2009

On the WOTY: I've bought some of the bottles from the BC release that Jim tasted and it is VERY good Uigeadail. Probably the best Oogie I've had and certainly my favourite current product from Ardbeg: but it's not the best whisky that i've ever tried. Also, chances are that this release is a lot bi...

It was a mutually beneficial arrangement for all of us - apart from one issue: the Dewar Rattray Port Ellen is so friggen awesome that I've become a little obsessed with trying to find a bottle of it, which might be tough since there were only a couple of hundred of them! Re: NYC-area store with miniature bottles

To confirm - Park Avenue Liquor is a great store just south of Grand Central Station on Madison and I believe they sell miniatures... easy enough to contact them in advance to pre-scout their selection. The staff are very helpful and beyond miniatures they also have some exclusive bottlings that are...

I think the price of Ardbeg 10 is up at least 30 percent over just the last few years, so get used to it, it's going even higher. In an attempt to bring this "battle" back on track - I thought I'd suggest to JohnyyGuitar that much of that 30% price hike (in the US) is related to the derai...
