Re: What are you drinking now?

Yes Bredman , most of the later Bladnoch bottlings were Single cask just bottled as they needed them at the distillery . Originally they did send them to a bottler to do in batches but i guess it was more economical to do when they were needed especially as they had their own bottling machine .

Must say at the moment i'd choose the Laphroaig 18yo over the other three as , apart from the recently tasted 2013 25yo , i'd say it was my Favourite Laphroaig expression and it's a cracking dram .

It's good now that Laphroaig have said future FOL bottles will be limited to 1 per member . Hopefully it will stop the flood of bottles onto E-bay / SWA..... perhaps not...... This is probably the result of an open membership rather than moderator approval , it's the reason i deleted the old SOI(then Islay Visits) board , got sick of going in to reject the spammers who were trying to join and having no new postings to read .

Haven't a clue what the make up of the current Corry is but the original Committee Bottling contained one of Dr Bills Experiments , Ardbeg matured in Burgundy casks . Oogie has gone up and down in quality over the years , the original 2003 bottling did contain 1970's Sherry casks , The last few batc...

Haven't had the +3 but have tried the X4 in various guises and at various strengths (the +1 was 65.4% and some of them at Feis Ile Tastings were 80%+ ) and have always enjoyed them , i've always found them to be "Condensed" Laddie in taste and nose .
