I have moved on to pastures new and believe that this event will now not take place. Certainly believe there is a gap in the market (in Glasgow) for a more intimate event than Whisky Live (no disrespect intended) and hopefully someone will organise something in the not too distant future.

Will be going to an official launch of the Renaissance in Scotland where I now work at ABode in Glasgow. Micky Heads (sp?) the Distillery Manager will be taking us through the 10, Ooogie, Nam Biest & Renaissance. Will try and take notes and post back over the weekend.

The new Auchentoshan 18yo (a surprisingly good dram) and a Glenfarclas 15yo with 2 glasses. The Wife & I had a great day out as well.

Oran Mor Whisky Festival 7th September

Just a heads up that Oran Mor in Glasgow will be hosting its inaugral Whisky Festival on Sunday 7th September in the Auditorium.

The festival will also include 2 possibly 3 masterclasses in the Private Dining Room.

Full details will follow next month once all is confirmed.

Had a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban and now I'm very much enjoying Adelphi's Breath of Speyside 1991, 16 yr. old Speyside, only 577 bottles from cask no. 4229, 57.9% vol.

A very powerful dram. It's from a 1st fill sherry butt.

Will be there on the Friday Only.
I'm probably going to the 1 or 2 Masterclasses this year at most. The Diageo and Ardbeg look favourites so far.

Last year went to too many Masterclasses (5) over the 2 days and wasn't able to get around all the exhibitors I wanted to see.
