I have now bought from them all now. I think all are good. As a seller, you pay less commission with whisky auctioneer and just whisky...
I find whisky auctioneer very good to deal with. I have had a good experience with SWA too.

Re: Where to sell?
SWA, as mentioned, charge the buyer 10 pct, the seller 10 pct and a £3 listing fee. VAT is also charged on the 10 pcts, I think. So they take more than 20 pct of what the buyer pays for the bottle. Whiskyauction.com is about the same. A little cheaper because of the VAT. And whiskyauction give small...

Re: Wich distillery to visit in Ireland?
You can do tours of Kilbeggan, Bushmills, Bow Street (museum, no longer operating), Midleton... Not sure about Dingle. You have to arrange a tour in advance at the Cooley Distillery. It's more an industrial type plant.

That's as good a price as I can see at the moment. There are less and less of these now. Not sure they're releasing any more.

The price you'll fetch for it has gone down a lot over recent years. You could get maybe 500 euro now? I've seen them go for less too.

You might be able to get them at www.celticwhiskeyshop.com. They got a full collection of Midleton recently and they're selling them individually. They get that Bushmills from time to time too.
Other than that, keep an eye on ebay and www.whiskyauction.com

I'd go for Redbreast 15, if you can get the original version. Although the newest version, which may not be out yet, is supposed to be of a similar quality to the first.

It was only light-hearted banter.
I don't mind at all about bad grammar - I make plenty of mistakes myself. Sorry if anyone took it up wrong or was offended.
And to bring the thread back on topic, http://www.whiskyfinder.eu is a very good website to find who sells what and at what price.

Jeeez!! ok thanks for that....could you also assist with "the pond"? Should it be "The Pond"? I think the point was that Glen Grant is over here....not over there.....err... I think. :headbang: I was only joking... And The Pond and the pond is a style issue, rather than a gramma...

Re: Glen Grant - its all greek to me
Spelt and spelled are both right. Centre is spelling this side of the pond, and probably in Canada? "Its all greek to me" should be "It's all Greek to me"... Glen Grant ages very well. I like it a lot. There's some very good independent versions too.

I think the Master Selection is just the newer packaging. They're done in batches, so each batch should be slightly different.

Hi, What is the best bottle than can be had for $25-30? I would prefer Irish whiskey. I am in san diego, and other than BevMo I have not been able to find a place with more selection. I'd say Powers or Black Bush. Two great whiskies, in my opinion. The might creep a little over $30, though. They co...

I really liked the Ben Nevis 25. There was also a Connemara 17 from a sherry cask that might be the best I've tasted this year. Probably lots more will spring to mind.

I'm not sure, but I'm sure if they had to they could increase production. Actually, one of the reasons they have not put the old Daly Tullamore stills into operation in Kilbeggan is that the Cooley plant isn't anywhere near full capacity production.

I wonder is it their plan to piggyback on the Irish name or the Irish style? If the plan is to build a distillery in Clonmel, will the produce the pot still/pot still blend? I really hope so, but the alternative isn't too bad either. They paid a lot of money for the brand, so they must see a lot of ...

Happy St Patrick's Day to the Barleycorns...
Cooley have some nice ones, but they're a little expensive. If you can get an independent bottled Cooley at cask strength, generally they're very good.

Yes, the World of Whiskies one is a special bottling and you'd be expecting more for that one. I saw one for sale a good few year ago, but can't remember what it went for. It also came in a box, while the others were packaged in a slieve. You're picture won't open for me. Maybe it's a problem my end.

I have mine too. I like it, typically Ardbeg. Tastes mature enough, given that there's young whisky in there.
