Good poll. There are exceptions, but for the most part, cask strength is my preference as it seems to coat my mouth with more vibrant flavors.

Final SMWS Order/Tasting

I ended up with the Bruichladdich, Rosebank and Springbank. I haven't cracked open the Rosebank yet, but I brought the other two to Las Vegas with me last weekend along with a SMWS Ardmore 20 yo, a SMWS Glenlivet 16 yo, Ardbeg Uigeadail and my own clubhouse blend. The clubhouse blend is a living bot...

Although Laphroaig is my favorite malt, if I had to pick one distillery it would be Bruichladdich. They can give you the fruity flavor I find in the 15 yo, an occassional unique finish (such as the Rioja casks used for WMD II), or a nice dram loaded with peat (3D Moine Mhor). I've enjoyed them all.

I'm leaning toward an 18 yr old Bruichladdich, a 15 yr old Rosebank and a 16 yr old Springbank (although Admiral has me seriously considering a 13 yr old Glen Scotia instead). You still have 24 hours left to influence my choices  Thank you for your responses. I look forward to posting my tasti...

Any SMWSA recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding the bottlings currently offered by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of America?

Problem solved

I have been told that my next issue will arrive in 10-14 days. The problem is solved!

A big thanks to Helen Slater and Damian Riley-Smith of Paragraph Publishing for your prompt responses.

Bad link?

Well, from failure notices I'm receiving, it looks like the subs@whiskymag.com link gets routed through several servers before leading to a dead end. I think the other contacts I mailed decided it's not their problem. I guess I'll have to go down to the shop and pick up a copy. I'll call my credit c...

I sent an email to that address and 2 others before I posted the topic. I haven't received a response yet. That's why I came here. It's my last resort before I call my credit card company to dispute the charge and cancel the subscription. I mean, jeez, I shouldn't have to call the UK to get this res...

How long does delivery take?

I subscribed to the magazine on 21 Oct 06 and received an email saying my magazine would be shipped within 21 days. It's 15 Jan and I have not received an issue yet. Is that typical? It makes me wish I was still just buying them at the store.

Just post your address and work schedule and I can help make the choice easier through the process of elimination

Reviews

I am rather new to appreciating the variences is single malt whiskies. As with cigars, I have found that "independent" reviews can have little correlation to my personal opinion when I try the product myself. However, when I look for new bottles to try, I like to have some logic behind it,...
