What a bizarre concept! Is that true? Can a touch over 0.4% of a distillate carry enough taste to be detectable in the distillate itself, much less the final product after the distillate is mingled with malts that have far stronger flavors? The 0.4% of the distillate can carry a lot of flavour. Our...

I think you are right when you refer to AMERICAN whiskey in this way. Cdn whiskey I think can be distilled to a higher proof if I'm not mistaken - thus the joke about it being "brown vodka". Curious if anyone knows what proof Cdn whisky can come off the still? Some Canadian distilleries d...

In my reviews you'll find that VO doesn't rate too high. Lawrence, are you writing the article for a magazine or website? I'd be interested in reading it when you are complete, so let me know where I can get a copy. For those that are interested, the first review has been posted. This one is on Crow...

Canadian Whisky Tasting

While browsing the Internet I've come across a lot of misinformation on Canadian whisky. Misinformation on the Internet, who would of thought! Anyway, throughout the month of June I will be reviewing twelve, maybe more, Canadian whiskies. I've decided that for my own information I would taste each o...

Johnnie Walker Swing

I just finished a review of Swing on my website. The funny thing is that my parents had an unopened bottle of Swing hanging around their house for about 15 years. Somehow they finally decided to open it, and send me home with the bottle. Johnnie Walker Swing The quick tasting notes are as follows: S...

JW Blue Label

Thanks, I'm glad everyone liked the article. It kind of puts things into perspective for some people. For me, I probably wouldn't buy another bottle of Blue Label, even though I do like it. There is just so much more to explore in the whisky world.

Blue Label

Funny you should ask. I just wrote an article about this scotch and why someone would buy it. You can read it here:

Johnnie Walker Blue Label

Other than that, it is a decent tasting blend.

Lochan Ora

Hello, Long time reader, first time poster. Does anyone know if Lochan Ora is still being produced by Chivas Brothers? I did a review of the liqueur and a person (Robert Hess, aka Drinkboy) posted that he thought that production had stopped. So, I just wanted to see if this was true or not. Any info...
