Re: Glenrothes 1979 (sold in US)

Build your own opinion.. From the 1979 Single Casks came 4 different out. (13458, 3808,13466, 13470) My favorite is Cask 13466 If we are talking about this bottling? Single Cask 13458 distilled 1979 bottled 2005 519 Bottles only for USA 57% The meanings for this Single Cask are diffrent. Example Mal...

Re: Glenroths Collectability

Sorry about this, but the Scotts are really good. They have the typical glenrothes style and good maturation. Must have a look into my notes where the Tasting Notes are. But from my head they both were excellent. Their are some other IB they are bad, but these stay as good in my head. Hope this help...

Sorry, I forgot the Label Notes: Character: Lemon citrus, rich vanilla cinnamon hints Checked: John Ramsay 17/12/98 Approved: Gordon Motion 11.2.09 Bottled: 2009 My opinion about the 1998: It is a great fruity Single Malt with the typical vanilla notes. About the Select Reserve: We are now at the third generation of Select Reserve and it was a big improvement since the first Release. How can you see the diffrences between the SRs? The first one was released with 40% and old label, than it got 43% with old label and now the third is with 43% and ne...

Re: Some bottles Available

HAve done a bit of research on the Glenrothes ... it seems that the 1979 that I have was the very first bottling in the Vintage Series in the Dumpy bottle. This 1979 was bottled in 1994 and I've seen it for sale for £195.00 I don't expect to get that so feel free to make an offer. This from http://...

My favorite Glenrothes  I must think a lot to find my favorite, because they are all good to excellent. Excellent in my opinion and milestones away from the lot of Independent Bottlings are the Single Casks. Awesome are the 1966/1967, and also the 1980 and the four 1979 Single Casks.(means all...

Re: Glenrothes Collectability

Limited Release means that are a couple of Cask filled up as a Vintage. They are much lower in offer than a regular Vintage. And of course some of the 90's Releases are much more on the market than the releases from 70s. And again, I can't give here or anywhere else the exact count of releases. I ap...

Re: Glenroths Collectability

Hi Rob, their are in total 3 different Versions of 1982 Vintage. Why do you think it is more limited than other Vintages? The 1982 is four times more released than the 70s Vintages and 5 times less than the 90s. (Pi x finger) I can't tell you the exact count because it is company confidential, but i...

Re: Glenroths Collectability

Hi jimidrammer, I think you are mean the actual Vintage of 1972 and not the old Limited Release? The 1974 is very smooth from taste and having citrus, honey and floral notes, the 1972 is a little bit more powerful and has the nice orange flavour, more malty and a touch of creamy vanilla. The "o...

Re: Glenroths Collectability

The Lonach Collection is the worst Glenrothes I ever drunk. It must be filled in bottles, because of low Vol%. I think Duncun Taylor took it in this Range to not make his Name of DT bad. 1970 - 2005 35 years 41,1% I gave him 3,5 from maximum 10 point :x Nose: Nothing, just a little bit malty Taste: ...
