Re: What is your most recent (whisky) purchase.

A bottle of the new Port Ellen Annual Release #9, 30y. at 57.7% just made it into my cabinet. Also managed to get hold of a 1971 Port Ellen, bottled for Meregalli.

Re: Diageo announcement

This release must be the most irrelevant of all whisky releases for the last 10-15 years and I feel sorry for the ones falling for this shameless trick of marketing from Diageo. £300.00 for a half decent, almost 10 year old whisky when you can buy a 30 year old rarity for the same amount....why even...

Re: Private bottling name help!

Weren't MacNab Distilleries Ltd. the previous owners of Lochside Distillery? I know I have seen the name somewhere, just haven't had the time to check it up. If you do a search on Lochside I'm pretty sure the name MacNab will turn up somewhere....

Re: Port Ellen Signatory value question.

If you get USD 600.00 for that bottle I guess you're a lucky man. The 375 ml botte is still available from Germany for approx EUR 100.00 (USD150.00) and I haven't seen the 750 ml bottling ever fetching more than EUR175.00-190.00 at auctions or elsewhere. It's a Port Ellen which is still easily withi...

Re: Laphroaig Cairdeas - Feis Ile bottling

I have now tasted the new Cairdeas on several occasions and I must say I'm really impressed. At the moment I am doing a vertical with the 1989 Vintage (Friends Of Laphroaig bottling 2007) and the standard 10 year old. I find the Cairdeas a much more "typical" Laphroaig bottling with its sw...

My order number was 5474 and I received my bottle a few days ago. I guess they're quite busy and doing their utmost to pack and ship all orders. Still, pretty fast delivery in my opinion.

Those look interesting. Are they for the Swedish market? I think this was originally released for the Swedish market but I've seen a few references to it being this year's festival bottling. I've booked a distillery tour during the festival and the description of the tour includes the following: &q...

Started with a Highland Park 18y. from the old style bottle (can't see why this had to be discontinued). It looks far better than the new one. Then off to a few drams of Macallan 1982, 18y. old.
