Hi there,

sorry whiskygeek I did not buy that bottle.

It was just curiosity that I took it out of the box fully expecting to see L11 lasered

into the glass.

Re: CARRINGTON CANADIAN WHISKY?????

Hi there,

it seems that Alberta distillery is under the Jim Beam umbrella.

Your best bet would probably be to contact Beam Global or one of their reps.

Somebody there will be able to tell you if Carrington is still made.

Re: Glen Turner

Hi there,

nope it doesn`t. Glen Turner Distillery Ltd. is a misnomer for the bottling plant of La Martiniquaise at Bathgate.

The plans for a new distillery there will probably never be realised as La Martiniquaise has bought Glen Mory Distillery in Speyside in the meantime.

Hi there, 40% alcohol 60% water. Interesting way to put it. And wrong. If you have 40% alcohol and 60% water you have an almost tasteless fluid consisting of much watered down alcohol. The 40% alcohol is ok ´cause that`s the law. But it should not read 60% water. More like 58% or 56% and 2-4% flavo...

Hi there, I found this thread only now. Jim McEwan sometimes does a trick with whisky in cask strength. Put cask strength whisky into a nosing glass. Cover it with the flat of your hand. Hi there, blends are 95% of the Scotch whisky market. The companies organised in the SWA or making up the SWA do not want to be hindered from bottling blends in countries where bottling is cheaper than in Scotland. 15-25% of blended Scotch is already bottled outside of Scotland. one of the lighter Speysiders for sure. Very similar to Glenfiddich imo.

And like Glenfiddich it becomes really good with age. Great age.

Re: Redbreast 12 a blend or not?

Hi there,

Redbreast is one of only two remaining Irish pure pot still brands.

It is a 100% pure pot still and not a blend.

If it were the label would be all wrong and misleading to say the least.

The other Irish pps is Green Spot.
