Re: Dalmore Cask Strength 1985

i actually picked up a bottle of this tucked at the back of the shelfs at royal lochnagar distillery a few months back for £70ish, was the only one there and was shocked at finding it as it was one of the 4 bottles that were brought out at the start of the range way back in 95. was even more surpris...

Re: Glendronach Single Cask
just re-read the pdf on it, appears he is saying he has exclusivity on the casks, now im even more surprised, (someone will prob point out something ive missed like he owns a percentage of the distillery or that) thats a fair number of bottles to ship on for a fairly small retailer.

Re: Glendronach Single Cask
the 17yo sounds really good and think it would be a cracking dram, had it been another shop then probably would have got a couple. dont know if its just me, but im amazed that the first OB single cask ever from a distillery has gone to a small fairly newish retailer, or i have misread and he doesnt ...

Re: What do you make of this? Fake?
the issue i have with this bottle is not the colour of the label, but the corners and the edges are mint and at perfect right angles still on the bottle, i mean, half the bottles done in this day and age with modern bottling halls dont get labels to adhere that well all the way round the label and s...

Well, I just found out that another numbering of my bottle went for 2242 euros at Whiskyauctions in november 08. The 62,02%, and the 26 year old ones goes for around 500 euros. I probably got one of the rearest versions. Using the finishing price for a bottle from one auction result in what is a hi...

this can be found in many western european spirts shops, seen this and the 15yo in gibralter, valencia and casablanca last week.
its not rare, and as nick states, was bottled as a bit of a cash flow thing for them at start.

there is only 4 bottles in that series, there have been a few diffrent packagings for it.
have a gander on ebay and other auction sites and get a feel for prices of collectable whiskies, then once you know what prices stuff tends to be going for, then youll know when you bag a bargin.
