opps...spelling correction: Colm not Colum. I also meant to comment about the effect of the crystal malt on the whiskey. There are different types of crystal malt, but generally speaking, it is known to lend body and mouthfeel with a light caramel sweetness. I don't think in this case, the Diageo re...

Thanks to everyone for your comments and confirming the Anniversary bottling is triple distilled. Frodo and I have decided to split a bottle, but I think I will buy one to save for a rainy day. Hi Malt Meister,
In previous years, the LCBO has sold whisky at the event. They don't offer anything outside of what they sell at the LCBO outlets.

I am planning on attending, so hope to meet you and the others there.

Line up not set but to be honest we wont be cracking open redbreast 15 ! pretty basic stuff, connemara, tyrconnell etc But the idea is that there will be a lot of young bartenders there, we want to educate them about whiskey and that you can make mixed drinks/cocktails with it, if it helps get them...

Milroy's of Soho have a 16-year-old Cooley single grain now. A limited edition for the shop. On special offer during August. Re: More on Canada - do different SAQ's have different stock?

Hi Scotch Chix, Generally speaking, Canada does have draconian liqour laws. The Government run agency in the province of Ontario is called the Liqour Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). The whisky supply is limited and pricey. Also, all special orders (cases only) from abroad must pass the LCBO strict ...

I agree whole heartedly that the Glen ruling is a preposterous one, nobody owns the name Glen. This would be akin to owning the word Ridge, as in Kittling Ridge Distillery, Pine Ridge Beer, etc.... What the SWA is legitimately upset about is the marketing on menus and liquor displays of this produc...
