Re: Excuse my ignorance...

Here in Finland tradition is other way round, employer might give small Xmas gifts to employees for the hard work which has made employer's wallet very very thick. Luckily, I don't need to give gifts to bosses or to employer, my hard work and poor salary has been so far enough. :o

Ah well, you've lost nothing. It's quite understandable that there is a limit on applications and maybe you'll be lucky next time. I missed out on the swap to get a full bottle of the 18 because I was too late, but got in on this one. True true, but I wished I would have option choose whether to pa...

Re: I need help with my dads Hogshead

The reason for me coming here is cos my dad has had this hogshead for ages, and it really annoys me that he invested the money in it years ago, and has never been arsed to do anything about it! But but, You are wrong, he is doing something every year. He has to pay for storage every year. And that'...

I wonder, if 25yo is around 220-230€, could this new 21yo be cheaper? Which would make me want one ... too bad that there is this Lagavulin (or Islay) price tag in these. One could get Glenfarclas 25yo with less than 85€. *sigh* :-/

Also not keen on the Benriach peated expressions however the new Benromach peat smoke really hits the spot for me - the best peat outside Islay for me. I just don't think peat goes well with some of the lighter speysiders but I was very pleasantly surprised with the Benromach. I haven't yet tasted ...

I wish it would have been just a dram, but I have the whole *beep* bottle (I bought it from Copenhagen btw. ;)). I have just tried it twice in separate occasions 2cl ... and that's enough. :|

I have also of alcohol problems, but another kinds of, I don't have enough money to buy different old Broras, Port Ellens, Ardbegs etc. And if I manage to buy for myself Rare Malt Brora or St. Magdalene, I don't dare to drink them. Some kind of a catch-22.

Best Laphroaigs I've tasted in order best first: 10yo CS, QC, 10yo, 15yo

QC is good but Cask Strength beats it with clear margin. And to me QC is only marginally better than standard 10yo ... which is then clearly better than 15yo. :)
