Re: Aroma recalling you past.

Ardbeg 10 brings back me standing on the pitchers mound eating my baseball glove. Or, bored out in center field waiting for a bomb. Baseball :smoke:

Re: How long you can keep open bottles

i.e. I just dipped into my Lagavulin D.E. thats been open for about a month. The nose is diminished and so is most of the smoky palate. It actually is taking on an almost plasticized essence that is not a desirable feature I must say. Still drink worthy but definitely better freshly opened. By the w...

Re: Whisky Disposal

Personally if I end up with a bottle of whisky that I deem unworthy of contributing to the declination of my liver functionality I will save it for someone who may enjoy it since we all have different tastes. I have a dark spot in my pantry for such items. I must have a dozen or so including other s...

Re: Ellenstown?

Oh Lord, with your grace I will drink this with restraint and command. I was sifting through some old posts and I stumbled on this rather than posting my own. This malt is absolutely amazing. It's got to be Ardbeg 10 uncut. I am with both bottles right now. The only way to get a better A-10yr is cas...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCTION AREA

As for new items Talisker 25yr, 30yr, and 175th Anniversary recently hit. Port Ellen 8th Edition 29yr Cask Strength, Brora 25yr Cask Strength and Laphroaig 15yr just landed in small amounts. Oban D.E. hit a few months ago and the 18yr hit two weeks ago. I hear Laphroaig 25yr is coming. And still no ...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCTION AREA

I prefer trade tastings so I can sample the wine, beer, and whisky all in one visit. With a family of teenagers most of my off time is already spoken for. I did however miss the most recent BenRiach/ Springbank tasting. That was a hard one to miss. Theres a Signatory event coming soon. I may be able...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCTION AREA

As my alias implies my name is Jonpol. I hail from the blistering heat, the hot side of the sun. I call Arizona my home, a native. I prefer good scotch and beer to most anything. I manage a liquor dept in an upscale grocery store chain out here. I get to try a lot of different expressions of everyth...

Re: Apart from whisky what do you drink? And your recommedations

Beer is my alternative of choice and I prefer the strong West Coast IPA's and Belgians. I recommend Houblon Chouffe Tripel IPA.

I drink my fare share of wine as well preferring bold reds. I highly recommend Chateau St Jean's Cinq Cepages from Sonoma.
